I found my love for jewelry in my early teens and was fascinated by all the possibilities to create beautiful things. Growing up in Europe, I was touched by the masterworks of the goldsmithing tradition almost as old as mankind.

During the last 25 years I have experimented with all kinds of techniques, but the learning process in the art of goldsmithing never ends. Making jewelry was always my idea of freedom and I've seen creativity as a way to give shape to my dreams. I bought my first tools while still in high school: pliers, files and some basic books to get myself started. Already back then I was sure that making jewelry was my destiny. After high school, I traveled for several years and managed to make a living with my basic jewelry, mostly made of wire, beads, fabrics and found objects. I visited jewelers in Asia and North Africa and admired how skillfully they could work with very primitive set-ups. I spent some time with gold minders in Columbia and did amber mining in Mexico. At that time I thought I would just travel around, collect what the earth can give me and create some beautiful designs with it.

Now almost 30 years later, my jewelry business has evolved so much that I hardly have free time for travel, but I'm stilling creating designs from the beauty of the earth. My way probably ended up taking much longer to learn goldsmithing techniques and it also required a lot of self discipline. But at the same time, I learned so much more about life than any school education could have given me. I experimented a lot and when I got a design idea, I tried all different techniques to get the most satisfying result.

Over the years, I have developed my own style, aiming for perfection in craftsmanship, while breaking the rules of joyless, classical, industrialized designs. I want my jewelry to look natural. I spend a long time on surface treatments, which gives each of my pieces a unique look. I favor complex surfaces with matt, brushed or hammered surfaces. My preferred materials are sterling silver and 18KY gold, in combination with well-chosen gems and ebony.

To create my design I use a wide variety of goldsmithing techniques, like chasing, fabricating, wax carving, casting, etc. I get my ideas by observing my surroundings wherever I am: in nature by looking at the patterns of plants or animals; in the cities by watching the people; in dreams by listening to my inner voice.
